Before they were awarded custody the Beasley's were fully informed about how the oldest child, who was 4 at the time of adoption, had been sexually abused and assaulted. Since January 27, , our victim has been in intensive counseling and what she thought was a Christian environment in her new home.

Facilitated through a three phase model; the day program includes screening, assessment, and targeted programming on areas that will address the offender's needs. This design offers the offenders the opportunity to develop a plan of action that can be utilized once they reenter the community. RIO participants attend structured job search workshops that focus on basic skills such as completing a work application, preparing a resume and performing in a mock interview. Project RIO staff ensure that potential employers are aware of and take advantage of special incentives for hiring applicants with a criminal record, including certifying employees for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit program.
Community supervision officers assess each probationer's level of risk and needs using a standard assessment tool and then using the results to design an appropriate supervision plan. The plan includes the conditions stipulated by the courts when the offender is sentenced.
Services include education and employment programs, and substance abuse treatment. The Division also performs some pre-release functions by investigating the parole plans proposed by inmates and by tracking parole eligible cases and submitting them for timely consideration by the Board of Pardons and Paroles.

Participants in these programs remain in secure facilities, but are able to participate in special programs. The curriculum used for the classes was written specifically for victims of family violence and is provided to our agency by the Allstate Foundation. The East Texas Crisis Center also provides primary prevention education to train and initiate change in the mindset of young males to break the cycle of sexism and violence against women. This prevention education is conducted at schools, youth clubs and colleges.
